This course surveys the many healthcare entities (public & private), how they interact and the issues that impact today’s complex healthcare environment. Important topics include the medical care system, utilization and distribution of health services, cost and health care financing, public health factors, evaluation of health policy, supply and distribution of the medical workforce, long-term care, assessment and assurance of quality, pharmaceutical industry, and the emergent field of health futures.
