BIOL 170 - Rocks, Fossils, and Life Credits: 4 What can we learn from the study of rocks and fossils and the processes that form them? How does this study help us understand the past, and why is it important to our understanding of life today–especially human life and culture? How can rocks and fossils give us insight into global change and environmental degradation? How do these questions interface with Christian belief and responsibility? The course will explore these and similar questions in geology and paleontology. Meets the life science general education requirement; no previous science background required.
