ECON 455 - Advanced International Economics

Welcome to Advanced International Economics, an exploration of the intricate world of global economics, policy challenges, and strategic decision-making in an interconnected world. This course is designed for students who have a foundational understanding of international economics and are eager to delve deeper into the complex issues facing economies in the era of globalization. After studying the fundamental principles, theories, and policies that govern international economic interactions and trade in ECON 454 (International Economics), in this course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the global economy, and its impact on nations, businesses, and individuals. They will also study the impact of international trade on an economy’s performance through the analysis of the balance of payments. Through case studies, simulations, and policy debates, students will critically engage with the multifaceted aspects of international economics. The relationship between the trade balance and some other aggregates (the exchange rate, the interest rate).
