HLED 240 - Law, Policy, and Ethics in Healthcare

Credits: 2
This course provides an overview of the legal, policy, and ethical issues that arise in healthcare. Topics include patient rights, informed consent, privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA), medical malpractice, healthcare fraud and abuse, end-of-life care, and access to healthcare. Students will analyze relevant case law, statutes, and ethical principles to develop a comprehensive understanding of these complex issues.
