Interior Design AS

The Interior Design AS students will immerse themselves in the world of interior design. Students will explore the profession of interior design, learn about the design process, gain hands-on knowledge about interior construction, utilize both hand drawing and computer-aided design to communicate design ideas. The skills taught in this program will prepare students to secure work in the interior design industry.

Students must fulfill all Associate’s Degree requirements listed in the Andrews Core Experience.

Student Learning Outcomes


Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Evaluate the form, space and order of an interior environment.
  • Classify interior design solutions, material selections and construction techniques.
  • Conduct design research and interpret information to provide a decision-making framework for interior solutions.
  • Utilize written, verbal and graphic presentation skills to thoughtfully communicate design.
  • Design interior spaces that reflect empathy, creative thinking and innovative problem solving.
