The Andrews Flex Program recognizes that students may experience circumstances that require temporary flexibility in their educational delivery while maintaining continuous progress toward their academic goals. The program provides a structured way for students to continue their education through online course options when campus attendance is not possible due to family emergencies, financial hardship, health situations, military deployment, international campus transitions, or other significant life changes.
The Andrews University Flex Program is designed to support students who need temporary alternative delivery methods while preserving their connection to their intended degree program. Students in the Flex Program maintain continuous enrollment and academic progress while accessing online general education courses and other available online offerings that contribute to their degree completion. Each student will be assigned a Flex academic advisor who will coordinate with both online student services and the student's home academic department to ensure efficient progress toward graduation. Students will temporarily have Flex as their primary major while their intended major becomes their secondary major, and they will continue to work with both their Flex advisor and their original program academic advisor.
The Andrews University Flex Program will work closely with each student to maintain momentum toward their intended degree through careful course selection and academic planning. Students may return to their original campus program at any time when circumstances permit, or complete their degree through available online pathways when appropriate. The professional advisor in Global Campus will ensure that students remain on a progressive graduation track regardless of temporary delivery method changes, providing the flexibility needed to navigate life's challenges while pursuing their educational goals.
This program is not available for students living in campus housing (dormitories, university apartments) or in the USA on F1 or J1 visas. This program will not meet the requirements for F1 or J1 visa status.
