The Associate of Science degree prepares students for entry-level job opportunities in business, accounting or finance fields. The degree is designed for the student who chooses a two-year degree or who wishes to interrupt his/her program for a period of time and return to college to complete a four-year baccalaureate degree.

Accounting/Finance Focus Area - 9


This Focus Area is only available for students on the main campus.

Management Focus Area - 9


This Focus Area is available to main campus, off campus, and online students.

Transfer Credits


The School of Business Administration does not accept 100-200 level courses (i.e., lower division) as transfer work to replace 300-400 level courses (i.e., upper division).

Student Learning Outcomes


Upon program completion, students will be able to:

  • Identify basic theories and concepts of business across various business functional areas.
  • Identify relevant business theories in analyzing business issues.
  • Explain that the content of their business courses adequately prepared them for entry-level careers in business.
  • Articulate how their understanding of Christian principles and ethics relates positively to business.

Upon completion of the Accounting/Finance Focus Area, students will be able to:

  • Prepare and interpret basic financial statements using GAAP at an introductory level, apply cost concepts, CVP analysis, and simple budgeting to support managerial decisions.
  • Apply and explain core financial concepts, including the time value of money, risk and return, financial markets, and valuation, and apply these concepts to basic decision-making scenarios.
  • Evaluate financial decisions through the lens of Christian ethics, stewardship, and integrity, demonstrating a basic understanding of how financial choices impact not only the business but also communities and society.

Upon completing the Management Focus Area, students will be able to:

  • Explain core concepts in management, including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, and apply these principles to basic organizational scenarios.
  • Students will identify at an introductory level factors that influence individual and group behavior in the workplace.
  • Apply Christian ethical principles and the values of stewardship, service, and respect for human dignity to managerial decision-making.
