Rehabilitation Sciences BS

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs by Degree

The BS in Rehabilitation Sciences (RS) degree with pre-Occupational Therapy or pre-Physical Therapy concentration is designed as a pre-professional degree for students who desire to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) degree through a “3+3” track. Rehabilitation Sciences students will learn about the field of rehabilitation, including foundational concepts of health, ability, and function. They will be introduced to current healthcare trends relevant to the field of rehabilitation sciences. Students will interact with peers pursuing pre-OT and pre-PT concentrations. The RS degree prepares the student with the prerequisite knowledge required for the DPT or OTD degree. Once accepted into the DPT or OTD program, the 3+3 track allows students to enter the professional program while completing the RS degree. The 3+3 students’ undergraduate senior year is the first two semesters of the DPT or OTD program. This RS program is designed to be completed in eight semesters. Students who meet all the degree requirements, including the first two semesters of the professional program (DPT 35 credits, or OTD 28 credits), qualify for the Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences Degree. Students who are transferring from other institutions and desire this degree path should work closely with our Pre-PT/OT Advisor to ensure all pre-requisites are met.
