IDSC 525 - STEM Graduate BoostCredits: 3 A graduate level, hands-on experience in the major STEM disciplines which include agriculture, biology, chemistry, engineering, math, and physics. This is designed to be a blended course - a combination of online distance learning and an on-campus lab intensive. The knowledge and experiences gained in this course is designed to be implemented in both small and large schools settings, inexpensive, with easy setup/cleanup. This class satisfies continuing education academic credit for teacher re-certification. It is designed specifically for middle and high school educators teaching grades 5-12. Elementary educators teaching grades K-4 science are also welcome and encouraged to attend. Participants will draft feasible prospective lesson plans as well as appropriate assessment tools and equipment acquisition and management strategies in the context of their classroom(s) and institution(s).
