LEAD 634 - Cultural Intelligence in Diversity, Culture, and Inclusive Leadership

Credits: 1-3
The purpose of this course is to review the tools needed to reduce apprehension, communicate effectively, and establish genuine trust and acceptance. When managing in a cross-cultural setting, you may face many challenges. How do you avoid pitfalls and cultural faux pas? How can you create opportunities to build relationships and understanding with people that are different? Another dimension for those who want to minister effectively across cultural barriers is the need to learn and understand the culture we live in before we initiate public ministry. The participants of this course will be challenged to identify their own biases, learn to adapt their lifestyles in order to increase their sensitivity towards others and build bridges of communication with those in need who live in their communities.
