Admission Requirements
Prospective exercise science students are accepted into the Wellness (Fitness Emphasis) BHS (Non-Professional Program). To transition into the professional program, students need to apply to the Director of the Fitness and Exercise Science Program in their sophomore year for acceptance into the BS Exercise Science by May 1 for the following fall semester. Succesful completion of all prerequisites courses listed below with a minimun cummulative GPA of 3.0, and a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 in the sciences and FTES courses, is requires for entry into BS Exercise Science. Upon acceptance into the professional program, the student’s major will be changed to BS Exercise Science.
Graduation Requirements
ACE or ACSM CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) Certification is required (to pass) before a student can graduate with BS: Exercise Science. A minimum grade of C is required in all majors and cognate courses. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for junior acceptance. Students are expected to complete a professional development portfolio during the BHS Wellness program outlining their goals and accomplishments, including required hours of professional experience (based on class standing and previous experience). Successful completion of the portfolio is required for graduation. General Education Requirements
